I have a Velodyne sub and my remote quit working. Do I have to buy a new one or can I use my programmable Marantz remote as a substitute?

My bet is that your Marantz remote can be programmed to work. What I can’t tell you is how you go about doing that. But Velodyne has a strong reputation for good customer service, so my suggestion is to contact them and describe your predicament and see if they can help out. In the meantime, perhaps a reader who has some experience in this area will read this and write in and offer a suggestion. If someone does, I’ll e-mail you privately with their response. . . .
